Description

Antlions are dangerous mobs that can be found in Volcanic Deserts and in Antlion Overlord Pyramids.

Variations

The Antlion comes in two variants:

- The normal variant, which is found naturally spawning in Volcanic Deserts. These are small and are a dark tan colour.

- The Trove Guardian variant is found in Antlion Pits, one of the dungeons of the Erebus. It has nearly five times the health of a regular Antlion and does four times as much damage. Its skin resembles Chiseled Sandstone.

Combat

Regular Antlions are more difficult to hit because they sink in the sand, but only deal half a heart. They can attack twice in a second.

It becomes easier to defeat them when you battle them in a grassy area, because they cannot dig themselves in there. The Trove Guardian variant lacks this digging behavior.

The Trove Guardian deals 2 hearts of damage per hit to a player without armour, and inflicts Weakness for ten seconds. 

Trivia

• The Antlion is named after an animal similar to the sand-dwelling alien enemy from Half-Life 2.
• The Antlion model was made by Vadis365 and textured by Dylan4ever.
• The Antlion Trove Guardian was planned to be the first boss of the Erebus, but was downgraded to Mini Boss status. The Tarantula Brood Mother replaced it as the first boss of the Erebus.
  • However, there is an even stronger Antlion called the Antlion Overlord, serving as the 2nd boss of the Erebus. It is found in Antlion Overlord Pyramids.
